SPRING

It's a great time of the year.
All the plants and animals wake up from winter,
and the rejuvenating freshness of the air is wonderful.

Winter Fun

A Cariboo winter is something that everyone should experience at least a few times in their life. There is nothing quite like the brisk, fresh air and the quiet hush of the clean, white landscape to make you feel great (if you're dressed for it, which we strongly recommend).

www.minac-on-the-lake.com - Downhill Ski at Mt. TimothyContrary to what many might think, it's not always bitterly cold in the winter around here. Temperatures of -10 or -15 C. are pretty common, and they're easy to cope with. There are those times when the temperatures dip to -30 C. or colder, but they just make you feel cozy when you decide to head for the great indoors at the end of the day and relax with your favorite drink, your favorite person, your favorite book, or perhaps all the above! It's a great time of the year to come and get laid back.

Skiing is available throughout the area. If you're into wilderness cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, then you simply have to drive up the highway (6000 Road) from Minac and pick your spot. There are also groomed trails in the 100 Mile House area. Downhill skiing is located at Mt. Timothy, which is about a 1+1/2 hour drive from Minac. You can check the conditions and other important information on their website at Ski Mt. Timothy.
